One of the multi storey car parks I use only has EV parking on the ground floor (around the edge). In the event of a fire, the fire brigade can just pull up outside and extinguish a fire from the road, eliminating the danger of entering the structure.

In France LPG cars are not allowed in underground parkings, because of explosion risks. EV will follow at some point.

My wife is a nurse and leases an EV through salary sacrifice. It's our 4th EV in 11 years. When picking a car, EVs are cheaper to rent due to the tax incentives, despite being twice the price !! She currently parks in a multistorey at her work. That may also be stopped due to the damage EVs do when they burn ( even if an ice burns first and the EV catches fire from the ice, the EV fires intensity is twice or even more due to the electrical energy stored causing an ARC fire ).

No EV should be parked in a confined space parking lot. And it *doesn't matter* how the fire starts - if an EV becomes involved then it burns for days whether it caused the fire or not....

The story should be, why did it take 5 years to get an appointment. EVs should be banned from all car parks, ferries etc. Make sure you are covered by your insurance, in case a EV catches fire next to your car, if it does not you will not get a pay out. This why hardly any insurers refuse to cover EVs.

Norway what has 26% EV's on the road, the fire departementet say that it's harder to extinguish a gas/diesel fire in a crampt space than a battery fire. A battery fire last longer, but has a lower heat. A diesel or a gas fire are more explosive. Why do you think a Molotov cocktail uses gasoline, not batteries???
